 The
Sheets Group works hard, but we also like to have fun. To
study a different type of raft dynamics (in contrast to the
lipid raft dynamics we normally probe), our group organizes
the annual chemistry whitewater rafting trip to Ohiopyle,
PA. We have a great time rafting down the Youghiogheny, although
Erin does worry about losing her entire lab in a collapsing raft!
We play softball with Mary Beth Williams's group and go bowling.
Another popular outing in the Sheets Group is to go to the Penn State Creamery to celebrate successes and to welcome new members to our group. (Of course, we
try to come up with lots of reasons to visit the Creamery.) Ahmed Heikal and Erin also enjoy having their groups come to their home for lab parties—this is a great opportunity to enjoy the international flavors prepared by folks in the groups. |
