Recruiting

The Sheets Lab at a lab lunch. Interested in joining the Sheets Group? We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic, intellectually curious, hard-working and fun colleagues to join our lab. In our group you can do cross-cutting research at the interface of biophysics, cell biology and biochemistry that has materials and optics applications. Postdoctoral candidates can contact Erin Sheets directly. Potential graduate students can apply to the Department of Chemistry or the Huck Institute of Life Sciences' Integrative Biosciences (IBIOS) Program. We are affiliated with the Biomolecular Transport Dynamics, Chemical Biology and Cell & Developmental Biology program options of IBIOS. We will soon be affiliated with the Proteomics Initiative as well. Please let Erin know if you interested in doing a rotation in our group.

Undergraduates who are interested in pursuing their honors thesis research in our group should contact Erin for current openings. We also participate in the MURE (Minority Undergraduate Research Experience) and WISER (Women in Science & Engineering Research) programs, which encourage early participation of undergraduates in research.

Undergraduates who are interested in REU programs that we are associated with should check the Penn State Center for Nanoscale Science and the Penn State Biomaterials & Bionanotechnology Summer Institute (BBSI), which is jointly run by the Departments of Bioengineering and Chemistry.
