Education: B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics in 2004, Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY
Entered the Mueller group: September 2008 as a 5th year graduate student
Research Area:: Computational tools are becoming more powerful and are being employed to investigate mineral dissolution. I have used ab-initio methods to determine the reaction mechanisms for Mg release from the forsterite surface and then used those data to calculate a rate for this process. Currently, I am analyzing conformations of water adsorption to the forsterite surface using ab-initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) via the Vienna Ab-Initio Simulation Package (VASP).
